The 1st e-ICON World Contest |

" Act the Collaboration, Light the Future "
Finally, we announce "The 1st e-ICON World Contest." which is held from February 17th to 25th , 2011 in Seoul, Korea.
This contest is hosted by Korea Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and co-organized by Korea Microsoft Corporation and Institute APEC Collaborative Education (IACE).
The e-ICON World Contest is very first event with unique character as the contest.
This contest aims to the world collaboration for future education to be able to spread for all people without barriers and limitation under the contest motto, " Act the Collaboration, Light the Future ".
All of international teams will be matched with each 14 Korea Local Education Authorities' representative students and teachers. (Since this contest targets are pointing the whole nation in the world, including the APEC economy, therefore we do not use "economy" on this contest.)
From this Contest, student contestants will create innovative educational contents based on edutainment and ICT with different nation and culture.
They will get the opportunity to overcome the culture barriers and understand the differences during the contest period.
Teacher contestants will make consensus for the instruction guideline based on each nation's culture and experience. After that, they will create educational contents and demonstrate their class with utilizing the created contents based on the guideline. In this contest, Not only the students and teachers but the IT, ICT experts who are the ICT educational policy maker, and Entrepreneur will also join as the judge and the penal for the World education direction based on ICT and IT.
This event will be a precious forum to develop educational contents and share the useful knowledge by collaborating between excellent human resources in education.
The main programs of the event are composed of international ICT (& e-Learning) Content Development Training for teachers and students, Educational Contents Contest based on ICT, and Summit of world policy makers, Biz-matching on education informatization.
In this regard, we would like to ask all of our excellences ALCoB members' interest and attention for this contest.
Moreover, please encourage your nation team if they are participating.
Some of the contestants are the ALCoB member already, others are not.
Through this contest, the network of the ALCoB will be enlarged, and the notification for the new members will be required and asked to each economy Headquarter.
We sincerely hope another high support and interet for the e-ICON World Contest where all of participants could understand each culture and different education situation of the world and promote mutual cooperation.
